I have a lot of big announcement for you this morning, so we are going to have to dive right in.
First, I want to let you all know that our Healthy Living Coordinator, Erika, starts her maternity leave today! We wish her and her family the very best as they welcome their new baby! While we anxiously await Erika’s return (and pictures of her little bundle!!), we will show more videos than usual for some of our fitness classes. Please keep in mind, this is only temporary. Erika will be back before you know it. In the meantime, Emily and Sydney will be doing everything they can to accommodate all the classes they can, but we know that some classes will be impacted by this change more than others. We apologize for any inconveniences and ask that we all exercise just a little patience for the next month or so.
For the next big announcement, I want to start by thanking Kohler Company. Due to a very generous grant from Kohler Co., we are able to launch a new check-in system on May 1st! There are several perks that come along with this new system:
For those of you who were with Generations before COVID, you may be comforted to know that we are technically just going back to how our check-in process worked pre-2020. For those of you who weren’t here then, or maybe you don’t quite remember how it used to work, I will be holding a tutorial session THIS FRIDAY at 2:00pm. I will walk you through the process, have it displayed on a TV to ensure everyone can see, and answer any questions you may have about the process, what the exceptions are, and so on. I encourage anyone who is interested in seeing a test-run of the system to join. I’m really excited to show it off and I hope you are just as excited to see it in action. There may be a few growing pains, but together we will get everyone up and running in no time.
OK, I still have some other points to touch on, but let’s take a break and look at upcoming events. Remember, after May 1st, you will not need to pre-register for any of these activities unless it specifically says otherwise.

Now that we know what’s coming up, here are a couple more tid bits for you this morning.
First, on May 15th, we will be hosting Dave and Friends from 11am – 1pm. Dave and Friends is a fun, interactive musical group that plays Pop Songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. When I say interactive, I mean it! Dave asked us to ask you if anyone wants to get involved. Specifically, do any of you want to request a specific song? Would you like to volunteer to sing a specific song? Would anyone like to share a joke with the audience? Or would anyone like to request a Polka or a Waltz song to dance to? If you are interested in any of this, let Joa or me know ASAP. We will get with Dave and he will get your requests worked into the program. It’s going to be a really fun afternoon!
Lastly, Emily asked me to share with you that she will be at a Parkinson’s Disease conference this coming Tuesday, April 23rd. This means we will have videos for both Arthritis Classes (9:30am and 11am) and for our Cardio Fit (7:30am). Walk Fit, Dance, and Tai Chi will not be affected.
That should do it for today. Thanks for hanging in there with me. Have a great week, enjoy the spring weather while it lasts, and talk to you again next Monday!
