The calendar and the weather really need to get on the same page! Last week, we celebrated the first official day of spring, and then we got the most snow we’ve gotten all month. Somehow, that doesn’t seem fair, especially with all the kids home on Spring Break this week. We’ll just hope that this is the last of it and we won’t see snow again until next winter. That’ll work, right?
Anyways, today is a big day at Generations! Tonight, at 4:30pm, we are hosting our Annual Meeting. If you’ve never attended, you should consider doing so. It’s not a very long meeting, but we go over some really interesting things. We’ll talk about last year’s financials, attendance numbers, and more. It’s almost like the year-in-review, if you will. We will also have quite a few Board Members in attendance, so it’s the perfect opportunity to get a really good look at what happens behind the scenes at Generations. We hope to see you there!
In other news, Wendy with Black Sheep Travel is still looking to fill a spot for the Cities of Canada tour! You still have a chance to get in on a trip that’s been sold out for months. It really is going to be a great trip with stops at a ton of great attractions. The trip is scheduled for June and you do need a passport to cross the border. If you are interested or want to learn more, please contact Wendy at blacksheeptravel@yahoo.com.
One more thing before the upcoming events. Growing Generations is running a Penny War upstairs and asked us to join the fun! Proceeds from the Penny War will go to Growing Generations Community Committee to be used for the winning room’s prizes, Teacher Appreciation Week in May, and other morale boosters throughout the year. We have our collection jug on the counter, next to the fridge, at the end of the hall. If you need help finding it, just ask! The collection goes until April 5th. Let’s show the teachers upstairs how much we appreciate them!
And without further ado, here’s what we have coming up…

I have one last note for you today. We had a member stop in last week to check if there is any interest in starting a 500 Rummy group. I decided to turn that question over to you. Is anyone interested in playing 500 Rummy? If enough people are interested, we will look at scheduling a first meeting to discuss times, days, how often we want to meet, and so on. So, if this sounds like something you would like to join, please let me know! We are always open to new things, we just want to make sure it’s the kinds of things you want.
That’s it for today. Take care of yourself, have a great week, and have a wonderful Holiday weekend!
