I hope everyone is enjoying the unseasonable warmth lately! This weekend was lovely, wasn’t it? I was almost tempted to open some windows in the house, but we’re not quite there yet. Jacob got outside quite a bit, which was nice for him. He even took the dog for a walk, which was comical once he had to figure out the dog bags. Needless to say, I will continue to be walking with them until he gets a stronger stomach!
We’ve got a busy couple of weeks coming up, and there are a couple of things I want to point out. First, the Annual Sunshine on the Street is coming up on March 13th. We will be prepping posters and signs to display and parade around with during our Intergenerational Art Class this month. This is really a fun event and a great way to connect with the kids at Growing Generations and our community as a whole. I’ve got more information on the art class below.
And speaking of artistic expression, we have a really neat interactive chalkboard decoration right now. Jackie made a bunch of adorable picture frames out of chalk, but they’re all empty! That’s where you come in. Grab a piece of paper from the dresser closest to the chalkboard and draw a picture of what Generations means to you, how it makes you feel, or of anything else that Generations brings to mind for you. And don’t worry, there’s already a few stick people up there, and there will be a few more once I’ve finished mine.
Lastly, Joa asked me to let you know that we will be holding another Tie Blanket event. As a reminder, these blankets are going to children battling cancer at Children’s Hospital and we are working in conjunction with the We Believe organization. If you would like to help tie blankets, we are meeting this coming Thursday the 7th in the Gathering Room at 3pm. You can stay here to work and socialize or you can take the materials home to work on your own time. Just let us know if you want to help!
Here’s what we have coming up…
