Can you believe in just two days, it’s going to be May? Hopefully we’ll be able to leave some of this rain behind and warm weather will follow. All this rain has been doing something, though. It’s so nice seeing the green fuzzies on the trees as everything starts to wake up for the year!
Speaking of spring, warm weather, and green sprouts, we still have some open space in our raised garden beds. I know it’s still a bit early to get most things in the ground, but if you want to claim a space, you can wait a while before planting. If you are interested in one of these raised garden bed plots, please contact Dick Fellenz at (920) 893-0071.
Also, join me in wishing Erika the best of luck today. She is being induced and will be meeting her new little boy any time now. We are so happy for her and can’t wait to meet the new addition! Good luck, Erika!
With Erika being out for a while, now, we have some announcements about classes in May. For the entire month of May, Chair Yoga (Monday/Wednesday at 1:30pm) and the 9:30am Arthritis classes will be videos. This also means that the live virtual classes for both of these will be unavailable. We know the videos can be challenging sometimes, but Emily and I are working on a way to make them more dependable for everyone. But remember: this is temporary. Once Erika is back, we’ll be back to regular, in-person classes.
Lastly, before getting into the upcoming events, I want to let you all know to mark the calendar for Saturday, May 18th. You may have heard that Joann Van Horn Wieland passed away earlier this year. It was devastating for her family and the community as she was such a positive force for good in the world. Joann’s husband believes that Joann would have loved to have her Celebration of Life at Generations, so that’s what we are going to do. Joann’s Celebration of Life will be held at Generations on Saturday, May 18th, starting at 1:30pm.
I have a couple more notes for you, but for now, let's take a look at what's coming up...

I have just a couple more notes for you today.
First, don’t forget that the new Check-In system goes into effect Wednesday, May 1st. You will no longer need to pre-register for on-going activities, like fitness classes, card games, and so on. You will still need to RSVP when a specific activity requires it, like when we need an RSVP number for a venue or a guest speaker wants a number to prepare. If you need to RSVP ahead of time, we will always tell you. Otherwise, please make sure you are visiting one of the check-in computers at either entrance and picking the activity you are here for every time you visit. If you have questions or weren’t able to join the tutorial last Friday, I have extra hand-outs explaining the process. Either stop in the office to pick up a copy or click here to download one.
Lastly, with this new format, I don’t have a way to ‘attach’ the new month’s Senior Meal calendar like we’re used to. However, click here and you'll be able to view the May calendar. In the future, I will include the Senior Meal calendar in this final section of the Monday Email.
That’s it for today. It’s supposed to be a beautiful week, so get out and enjoy! Talk to you next week.
