Good morning, everyone!

I almost didn’t mind the dreary day I woke up to because I’m still so hopped up from yesterday’s game! How about them Packers! Love looked really good for a first-time starter, although he doesn’t seem to have a handle on the hard count quite yet. I’m sure he’ll get there. In the meantime, it’s just nice to have Football season start back up! It was definitely a highlight of the weekend.

I’ve got a couple of notes for you today. First, I want to let you know some exciting news. Starting in October, the My Way Café (previously known as the Senior Meal Site) will be at Generations 5 days a week. This has been a long time coming, and we’re very glad to see My Way Café back in full swing. As a reminder, seniors can qualify to get lunch for a suggested donation of $5 through this ADRC program. If you are interested in signing up for this deal, talk to Susan Wenzel here at Generations.

I also want to tell you that Cornhole is going to be cancelled this week. Miss Diane is on the Memphis Bus Trip with Black Sheep Travel this week and won’t be here to run it. She’ll be back next week, though, and I’m sure she’ll have plenty of stories and pictures to share with you all.

Last quick note before getting into the upcoming events. Kendall is looking for some help around the grounds. The weeds are getting bad (again) and fall will be here soon, which means there will be plenty of clean-up to do. If you or someone you know likes doing outside work and is looking for a volunteer opportunity, we’d love to have you! You can pick the times you’re interested in volunteering too so it can fit into your schedule. Let Meghann or Kendall know if you would like to help prep our grounds for the impending doom (aka Winter).

Here’s what we have coming up for you…

Wednesday, September 20th – Bring A Friend Day If you have friends on the fence about joining Generations, or if you’ve told someone about us and they say, “what’s Generations?”, then today is the day for you to bring them in and learn all about us! Friday, September 22nd, 10:30am – Fireside Chat with Greg Join us for another friendly, laid-back conversation with Greg. We’ll talk about where we’re at as we head into the 4th quarter, what fun stuff we have planned to end the year, and more! If you want to join, please let us know so we can have enough seats for everyone.

Friday, September 22nd, 11:30am – Fall Risk Screening If you can’t make it on Monday, no worries! We’re having the fall risk assessments twice this week! Meet with someone to get a good idea of where you’re at and what to do if you aren’t quite as steady as you’d like. No appointments are necessary, so stop in and get your FREE assessment!

Last note time! Next week is United Way’s Day of Caring, where organizations from all over the county send employees out into the community to do volunteer work. Generations is getting a group of volunteers and one of the tasks we’re giving them is to fix up the various Little Libraries around the property. One thing they’ll be doing is sanding them down before painting. Here’s the problem: we don’t have a hand sander. Does anyone have one we could borrow? We will need a total of 5 as the Little Libraries will all be worked on at the same time. We would need it by Wednesday, September 20th and can have it back to you on Friday, September 22nd. If you have one you’re willing to borrow, we would really appreciate it. This is the part where I’m supposed to say, ‘ask me if you have any questions,’ but to be frank, I don’t know anything about this kind of stuff. So, ask KENDALL if you have any follow-up questions on what we’re looking for!

Have a great week, hopefully it dries up soon! Talk to you next week.

Meghann
