Happy Monday Morning!

I have some big news for you this morning! Have you been to our website lately? If not, it’s time to give it a visit. The whole thing has been redone and it looks pretty slick. We’ve added a lot more functionality as well, including being able to sign up for membership, sponsor a member, and make donations, which brings me to the most exciting part!!

In honor of our new website being live, we are running a little contest. The first 10 people to donate through our website between now and noon tomorrow (5/23) will be entered to win 1 free membership! Visit www.generationsic.org to donate and enter the contest. Even if your membership doesn’t come due soon, that’s OK. We can hold on to it until you need it. So, on your marks, get set, DONATE!!

And as if that wasn’t enough, I have even MORE exciting news to share! The Generations Supper Club is shaking things up a bit this month. For the first time ever, Pic A Deli will be our host! That’s right, we are going to hold Supper Club right here at Generations. Bonus: yours truly will be on the wait staff (along with Joa and Emily). June’s Supper Club will take place on Monday, June 26th at 5:00pm. You will need to RSVP with your meal choice by Friday, June 16th if you are interested in joining. We are really excited for this one and can’t wait to show off Dave’s cooking skill! Check the flyer for meal options.

Monday, May 22nd & Wednesday, May 24th – Blood Drive

Wednesday, May 24th, 1:00pm – Embrace Care Management Presentation: Mixed Emotions and Changing Roles Many seniors voice feelings of frustration and resentment over current communication with their adult children, while adult children voice feelings of apprehension and sadness. Join this presentation to learn how these conflicting and changing roles can become more balanced and ease the stress for all involved. Let us know if you want to join!

Thursday, May 25th, 12:00pm – Mindfulness Series: The Science Behind Mindfulness with Mental Health America In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Generations will be welcoming Mental Health America to teach us about the history and science of mindfulness and how it benefits mental health. Make sure to RSVP if you’re interested in joining.

Friday, May 26th, 10:30am – Lemonade Stand with Growing Generations Join Emily and the kiddos for a cup of lemonade this Friday. They are raising money for the Generations team participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s later this year. We hope to see you there!

Friday, May 26th, 11:00am – DIY Sun Catchers with Meg There’s still room to join Meg to make your own sun catcher! Entry is $5 but that includes all your materials, step-by-step help, and you get to keep your project. Please call or stop by to sign up so we can have all the supplies we need.

Monday, May 29th – Closed for Memorial Day

Tuesday, May 30th, 4:00pm – Memorial Ceremony Join us on the patio as we remember all the members we lost in 2022. We will also unveil the Pic A Bricks purchased in 2022 that will be installed on our patio and walkways this summer. The event will be moved to our Gathering Room if the weather does not cooperate.

Friday, June 2nd, 11:00am – Fireside Chat with Greg We are holding another general discussion with our Executive Director, Greg. Similar to last time, he will have a few things to bring up to you all, but then the floor is yours! Ask questions, get clarification, make suggestions, or whatever comes to mind. We look forward to a friendly and informative discussion. Let us know if you plan to come so we have enough chairs set out.

That’s all I have for you today. Have a great week and a nice Memorial Day weekend!

Meghann
